Our Community
Outreach Community Church (OCC) was planted in August 2000 by Pastors Roddy and Janette Gillies with the vision and purpose of bringing a modern, culturally relevant Pentecostal expression of church to our community. This has remained true to our origins and is now a well established work comprising of an enthusiastic group of people from a variety of church backgrounds and none, worshiping together in a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere and environment.

Having met for the first twelve years in a local community hall we secured our own building in the form of a vacant Church of Scotland building in 2012. Following a four months refurbishment programme The Epicentre was born, situated in the heart of Strathaven, the historic market village in South Lanarkshire , Scotland.

As well as the base for our church activities it also houses our fantastic, contemporary coffee house called The Crib Community Coffee House which is a hub of activity and a great meeting place. We serve great food and amazing coffee six days a week. The Epicentre is a sought after venue for community events due to its well equipped audio visual capability, stage lighting and fantastic natural acoustics. Over the last 5 years we have hosted a variety of events including plays, folk festivals, conferences, charity nights, school concerts and more!

Outreach Community Church is part of a Global movement of churches focused on leadership, discipleship & vision called Synergy Christian Churches which is headed up by Pastor Andy Elmes of Family Church Portsmouth.
